In today's Apple Daily, Apple acknowledges in a support document that tattoos can have an adverse affect on the Apple Watch experience. In other news, three business cards owned by Steve Jobs go up for auction.

Apple Acknowledges Apple Watch's Tattoo Problem

Apple has acknowledged on a support page that dark wrist tattoos do, in fact, affect the accuracy of the Apple Watch, following numerous complaints that appeared throughout the week on Reddit and other social networks. Unfortunately, due to the way the Apple Watch works, there's not much the company can do about it, and therefore it doesn't offer any real suggestions as to how to fix the issue.

"Permanent or temporary changes to your skin, such as some tattoos, can also impact heart rate sensor performance," the support page reads. "The ink, pattern, and saturation of some tattoos can block light from the sensor, making it difficult to get reliable readings."

Apple's suggested remedy for this issue is about as around the bush as it can get: "If you’re not able to get a consistent reading because of any of these factors, you can connect your Apple Watch wirelessly to external heart rate monitors such as Bluetooth chest straps."

The idea seems to be that the people affected by the issue represent a tiny minority, and thus Apple isn't ready to do much besides the steps listed. As mentioned in our previous coverage, it's thought that the heavy metals used in the ink affect the Apple Watch's wrist detection, not skin color or pigmentation.

Three Steve Jobs Business Cards Go Up for Auction

If you have some spare cash laying around, you can use it over the next six days to try to buy some small but important pieces of Apple history — namely, three of Steve Jobs' business cards from his time at Apple, Pixar and NeXT. The cards are up for auction over at BiddingForGood.com, and as of the time of writing, the leading bid is up to $5,005.

The winnings will go to The Marin School in California, which is described as a "a small independent high school making a big impact." According to Business Insider, the cards come from a family with children in attendance at the Marin School who once did catering for Jobs.

The cards, which span the years from 1984 to 1990, list "Steven P. Jobs" as the chairman of the board for both Apple and Pixar, and as the president of NeXT.
